Business name generator

Type a keyword or two, pick an industry and get name ideas, each with its .com spelled out. Check whether the .com is free in the VeloxaHost console, or start the website in the VeloxaHost AI builder with the name filled in.

Type a keyword, a place, a word you like or what you sell, and the ideas appear here.

These are ideas, not checked names: nothing here knows whether a name or its .com is taken. Check availability opens the domain search in the VeloxaHost console, which asks the registrar about the .com and shows the other extensions it sells; you sign in or create an account first. Build the website opens Veloxa Build, the VeloxaHost AI website builder, with a first message for that name in the box, and sends nothing until you do. Check trademarks before you commit.

How the generator works

It runs in your browser and makes no AI calls and no network requests: it uses word lists and fixed patterns. Up to 2 keywords are used, lowercased, with accents and small words such as “the” and “and” dropped. Each industry has its own lists of trade nouns, words with the trade's feel, short roots and endings. The patterns below put a keyword and those words together.

The examples use the keywords “harbor” and “pine” with the restaurant lists. The words you type, the industry and the set number are hashed into a seed for a small random number generator, which only ever picks words from the lists. So the same keywords and industry always give the same 12 ideas, and More ideas moves on to the next set.

An idea is dropped if its .com would be shorter than 4 or longer than 24 letters, if it repeats a word, or if another idea already has the same .com. The .com is the name in lowercase with spaces and punctuation removed and “&” written as “and”.

How to choose a name

  • Say it out loud. If you have to spell it on the phone, people will misspell it when they search for you.
  • Keep it short. Two or three words, and a .com you can type without looking. The generator drops anything over 24 letters; shorter is easier to remember.
  • Choose descriptive or coined. A name like Harbor Kitchen says what you do but is more often taken as a .com. A coined name like Harora is easier to get and needs a line of explanation.
  • Leave room to grow. A name tied to one product, one street or one service can box you in when you add a second.
  • Search for it. Look the name up in a search engine, in the business register where you trade and on the social networks you use. A near-identical name in your own trade causes more confusion than one in another.
  • Check trademarks before you commit. Do it before you pay for a logo, signs or printing.

Name generators by industry

Each one opens the tool on that industry's word lists, with examples and naming notes for that kind of business.

Questions

Does the generator check whether a name is available?
No. It suggests names and spells out the .com for each; it does not look anything up. Check availability opens the domain search in the VeloxaHost console, which asks the registrar whether that .com is free and shows the other extensions it sells. You sign in or create an account first. A free .com is not the whole answer: search the business register where you trade, and check trademarks before you commit.
How does it come up with names?
From your keywords and word lists written for each industry: trade nouns like Kitchen or Realty, words with the trade's feel, short roots and endings. Fixed patterns combine them, for example keyword and trade noun (Harbor Kitchen), a trade word and the keyword (Ember & Harbor), one-word compounds (Harborfork) and short coined words (Harora). No AI is involved, and the same keywords and industry always give the same list.
Is what I type sent anywhere?
No. The generator runs in the page, in your browser. Your keywords only leave it if you follow a link on an idea: Check availability carries that .com to the console's domain search, and Build the website carries the name into the builder's first message.
Why does every idea come with a .com?
Many people type .com by habit, so knowing early whether it is taken saves a rename later. If it is, try another idea, add a word, or look at the other extensions the console's search lists next to the .com.
What happens when I click Build the website?
Veloxa Build, the VeloxaHost AI website builder, opens with a first message such as “A website for Harbor Kitchen, a restaurant.” followed by what that kind of site usually shows. The message is only put in the box: you can edit it, and nothing is sent until you press send.

Once you have a name, Veloxa Build, the VeloxaHost AI website builder, makes the site from a description. The other free tools, a VPS cost calculator and buttons for READMEs and blogs, are on the tools page.
