Which one

Who should pick which

Pick Veloxa Build if

  • You want hosting that never draws on your AI allowance, so running out of AI cannot take your app or its data offline.
  • You want to download your code on the Free plan.
  • You want to see what each message cost in dollars, at published rates.
  • You also run servers, or plan to: a VeloxaHost VPS from $5/month is billed to the same VeloxaHost account.

Pick Lovable if

  • Your app needs a SQL database or edge functions.
  • You want two-way GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket sync.
  • You need a custom domain or no builder badge today.
  • You want unused credits to roll over and the option to top up mid-month.
Switching

Switching from Lovable

Veloxa Build has no importer for Lovable projects, so switching means rebuilding your app in Veloxa Build, with the Lovable version as the reference.

How to move

  1. Get your files out of Lovable: download the code on a paid plan, or sync it to GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket on any plan.
  2. Start a project in Veloxa Build and attach what you need to your first message: images and logos, text and code files, PDFs. Attachments are saved in your project, and the AI can read the text, code and PDF files you attach.
  3. Describe the app you want, then refine it by chatting or by clicking elements in the live preview.
  4. Publish to an address like yourname.veloxa.site, and keep your Lovable app running until the new one does everything you need.

What does not carry over

  • Veloxa Build does not run a Lovable project as it is: it writes its own version from your description and the files you attach.
  • Data in Lovable's built-in backend (database rows, user accounts, stored files) does not move over. Apps built here use a key-value database, not SQL, so an app built around relational data may need a different design.
  • Custom domains in Veloxa Build are coming soon, so for now the rebuilt app is published at an address like yourname.veloxa.site.
FAQ

Veloxa Build vs Lovable: questions

Is Veloxa Build cheaper than Lovable?

The two Pro plans cost the same, $25 a month, but count AI differently. Veloxa Build Pro includes $20 of AI usage at published per-token rates, and hosting never uses it. Lovable Pro includes 100 credits a month plus 5 a day, and hosting and its built-in backend draw on credits after a monthly grant. Lovable rolls unused monthly credits over; Veloxa Build does not.

Can I use my own domain?

On Lovable, yes, on paid plans. On Veloxa Build, custom domains are coming soon (5 on Pro); today every site is published with HTTPS at an address like yourname.veloxa.site.

Which is better for apps that need a database?

If your app needs a SQL database, Lovable: its built-in backend has one. Apps built with Veloxa Build get built-in user sign-in, file storage and a key-value database, which suits simpler data such as lists, settings and form entries.

Can I take my code with me?

With Veloxa Build, yes, on every plan including Free: download the project as plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Lovable lets you download code on paid plans and sync it with GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket on every plan; Veloxa Build has no GitHub sync.

Can I move a Lovable project to Veloxa Build?

Not automatically: there is no importer. Download or sync your Lovable code, attach the files and images you need to a message in Veloxa Build, and describe the app; it builds its own version. Data in Lovable's backend does not move over.
