Which one

Who should pick which

Pick Veloxa Build if

  • You want to download your code without a $40-a-month plan: Veloxa Build exports plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript on every plan, including Free.
  • You want AI usage counted in dollars at published rates, with the cost of every message shown, rather than in two kinds of credits.
  • You want one paid plan with a large allowance: Pro is $25 a month for $20 of AI usage and 25 published sites.
  • You also run servers, or plan to: a VeloxaHost VPS from $4/month is billed to the same VeloxaHost account.

Pick Base44 if

  • Your app takes payments or sends email: Base44 has Stripe on Builder and higher and email sending built in, and Veloxa Build has neither.
  • You need a custom domain today, or want a free domain for the first year on a yearly plan.
  • You want two-way GitHub sync, or backend functions that run your own server code.
  • You want a team on the free plan: Base44 Free allows unlimited members, and Veloxa Build Free is for 1 person.
Switching

Switching from Base44

Veloxa Build has no importer for Base44 apps, so switching means rebuilding your app in Veloxa Build, with the Base44 version as the reference.

How to move

  1. Collect what you want to keep from Base44: on Builder or higher, export the project as a zip from the More actions menu or sync it to GitHub; on any plan, take screenshots, text and images.
  2. Start a project in Veloxa Build and attach what you need to your first message: images and logos, text and code files, PDFs. Attachments are saved in your project, and the AI can read the text, code and PDF files you attach.
  3. Describe the app you want, then refine it by chatting or by clicking elements in the live preview.
  4. Publish to an address like yourname.veloxa.site, and keep your Base44 app running until the new one does everything you need.

What does not carry over

  • Veloxa Build does not run a Base44 app as it is: it writes its own version from your description and the files you attach.
  • Records in Base44's database and its user accounts do not move over automatically. Base44 can export database collections as CSV files, which you can attach as a reference.
  • Stripe payments and email sending do not carry over: there is no payments integration or email sending here.
  • Custom domains in Veloxa Build are coming soon, so for now the rebuilt app is published at an address like yourname.veloxa.site.
FAQ

Veloxa Build vs Base44: questions

Is Veloxa Build cheaper than Base44?

It depends on what you need. Veloxa Build Pro is $25 a month with $20 of AI usage and code download. Base44 Starter is $16 a month billed yearly with 100 message credits; code export starts on Builder, at $40 a month billed yearly. Both have a free plan.

Can I use my own domain?

On Base44, yes, from Starter, and yearly plans include a free domain for one year. On Veloxa Build, custom domains are coming soon (5 on Pro); today every site is published with HTTPS at an address like yourname.veloxa.site.

Can I take my code with me?

With Veloxa Build, yes, on every plan including Free: download the project as plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Base44 exports code on Builder and higher, and its hosting, sign-in system and database stay on Base44, so an exported app needs a new backend to run elsewhere.

Which is better for an app that takes payments or sends email?

Base44. It has Stripe payments on Builder and higher and built-in email sending, and Veloxa Build has neither.

Can I move a Base44 app to Veloxa Build?

Not automatically: there is no importer. Export or screenshot your Base44 app, attach the files you need to a message in Veloxa Build, and describe the app; it builds its own version. Data in Base44's database does not move over.
