    Replit
Paid plans. Domains can also be bought inside Replit.

Which one

Who should pick which

Pick Veloxa Build if

  • You want hosting in the plan price, not billed by usage out of the same credits as the AI.
  • You want a free site that stays up: Free keeps 1 site published, where a Replit Starter link goes down after 30 days.
  • You build with a larger group: Pro includes unlimited members, no seat fees, where Core allows up to 5 builders.
  • You want a website or a small web app without a coding workspace around it.
  • You also run servers, or plan to: a VeloxaHost VPS from $4/month is billed to the same VeloxaHost account.

Pick Replit if

  • Your app needs a SQL database, or takes payments: Replit has PostgreSQL built in and connects to Stripe on paid plans, and Veloxa Build has neither.
  • You want to write and run code yourself, in a language other than HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
  • You want two-way GitHub sync, or to import an existing project from GitHub or another builder.
  • You need a custom domain today, or a background job, a scheduled task or an always-on server for your app.
Switching

Switching from Replit

Veloxa Build has no importer for Replit projects, so switching means rebuilding your app in Veloxa Build, with the Replit version as the reference.

How to move

  1. Get your files out of Replit: open the three-dot menu at the top of the file tree and choose Download as zip, or push the project to GitHub from the Git pane.
  2. Start a project in Veloxa Build and attach what you need to your first message: images and logos, text and code files, PDFs. Attachments are saved in your project, and the AI can read the text, code and PDF files you attach.
  3. Describe the app you want, then refine it by chatting or by clicking elements in the live preview.
  4. Publish to an address like yourname.veloxa.site, and keep your Replit app running until the new one does everything you need.

What does not carry over

  • Veloxa Build does not run a Replit project as it is: it writes its own HTML, CSS and JavaScript version from your description and the files you attach. Server code in other languages does not run here.
  • Data in Replit's PostgreSQL database does not move over, and Replit says a zip copy leaves out secrets, the database and deployment settings. Apps built here use a key-value database, not SQL, so an app built around relational data may need a different design.
  • Custom domains in Veloxa Build are coming soon, so for now the rebuilt app is published at an address like yourname.veloxa.site.
FAQ

Veloxa Build vs Replit: questions

How is Veloxa Build different from Replit?

Replit is a coding workspace: its Agent writes code in many languages, and you can edit and run that code yourself, with a SQL database and deployment options built in. Veloxa Build builds websites and web apps from a chat, in HTML, CSS and JavaScript, with hosting included in the plan.

Which costs less?

Veloxa Build Pro is $25 a month with $20 of AI usage, and hosting does not draw on it. Replit Core is $20 a month, or $18 billed yearly, with $20 of credits that also pay for publishing, which Replit bills by usage. Both have a free plan.

Can I use my own domain?

On Replit, yes, on paid plans. On Veloxa Build, custom domains are coming soon (5 on Pro); today every site is published with HTTPS at an address like yourname.veloxa.site.

Which is better for apps that need a database?

If your app needs a SQL database, Replit: every Replit app can use a built-in PostgreSQL database. Apps built with Veloxa Build get built-in user sign-in, file storage and a key-value database, which suits simpler data such as lists, settings and form entries.

Can I move a Replit project to Veloxa Build?

Not automatically: there is no importer. Download your Replit project as a zip, attach the files and images you need to a message in Veloxa Build, and describe the app; it builds its own version. Data in Replit's database does not move over.
